The Journey Continues | The Federated States of Micronesia

The Federated States of Micronesia Football Association proudly launches its new national team kits for 2024, custom designed and manufactured by STINGZ™.

The shirts, which depict unique aspects of Micronesia’s culture will play a crucial part in helping football’s biggest underdogs get their shot at glory.

Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) comprises the islands of Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae and Pohnpei and is one of just six sovereign nations not to be part of a FIFA Confederation, but the sport has been played there for nearly 30 years and has a proud history.

FSM’s last international outing was a harsh experience at the 2015 South Pacific Games where they lost 46-0 to Vanuatu - a world record score-line - but football’s ultimate underdogs are ready to fight back.

Lack of funding from the game’s governing body, and the travel distances to the nearest potential opponents, have made it tough to find a way to avenge their 46-0 loss. But Micronesia’s Football Association plans to use the funds raised from shirt sales to line up a friendly, either at home or away.

In 2023, the FSM held its first ever futsal competition in Pohnpei, funded in the main from shirt sales after STINGZ™ produced kits for Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae and Pohnpei, that sold across the world with all profits going towards flying the players to the event.

The FSM replica national team kit will be launched and available to purchase via STINGZ™ online shop on January 4th 2024.
