Almaty Rugby Club show off new kit in Russia

STINGZ™ is pleased to unveil the official Almaty Rugby Club playing jersey for the 2020/21 season.

Hailing from the Kazakhstan city of Almaty, the club boasts a rich heritage in rugby, having been crowned domestic champions on numerous occasions and having produced a number of men’s and women’s internationals.

Almaty becomes STINGZ™ flagship club in Central Asia, and the partnership will see STINGZ™ supply the club with official match wear, training wear and leisure wear.

Breaking away from the club’s traditional and vibrant colourway of sky blue, pink, white and yellow, the new, bespoke design of the Almaty jersey comes in a bold royal blue and red colourway, with both colour and fabric-blocking.

The mountain image in the middle of the jersey where the colour changes from red to royal blue is inspired by the snow-capped Trans-Ili Alatau mountain range near Almaty, the nation’s former capital city.

The Almaty coat-of-arms is used as the club’s crest, while the cuffs feature the national ornamental pattern "koshkar-muiz" (the horns of the ram) in red and white. The national flag is displayed on the left sleeve, while title sponsors, Giordano, dominate the front centre position of the shirt. The jersey is crafted using raglan sleeve construction, with a crew neck collar as well as durable flatlock and reinforcement stitching.

While both the men’s and the women’s teams will be wearing the jersey, the men were the first to put their new kits on display, having just participated in the Rugby 7’s European Clubs Championship in the Russian city of Ufa, which featured many teams from the Russian Rugby Premier League.
