Palace of Wonders inspires Chuoni Football Club

We are pleased to unveil Chuoni FC’s new official home playing jersey for the forthcoming season.

Chuoni FC was founded in 1984 by Maalim Hamad Bakar, who was head of the Madrasat Qadiriya, together with a group of students.

The Club was initially dominated by Madras Qadiriya students, but subsequently expanded to cover all of Nyerere & Magogoni and eventually, all of Zanzibar.

Chuoni FC plays Premier League football in Zanzibar, and is based on Unguja Island.

The team’s new home jersey adopts a predominantly red colourway, inspired by the Club’s red and blue crest.

The front panel features a watermark of the House of Wonders, or Palace of Wonders (in Arabic: Beit-al-Ajaib, بيت العجايب), a landmark building in Stone Town, Zanzibar. It is the largest and tallest building in Stone Town and occupies a prominent place facing the Forodhani Gardens on the old town's seafront, in Mizingani Road.

The jersey is finished-off with additional black and white piping, and features STINGZ’s new mandarin collar.

The team’s new away jersey adopts a predominantly blue and navy colourway, inspired by the Club’s red and blue crest.

The mandarin collar and the subtle hooped design gives the jersey a classic feel, while the red tonal logos and colour-blocked collar give the jersey contemporary flare.
