Like all the Pacific teams STINGZ have worked with, including Nauru and the Kiribati Islands, 100% of profits from the sales of shirts online will be heading to Tuvalu to help further develop football.
STINGZ are proud to be official technical suppliers to the Tuvalu Islands Football Association, who recently competed in the Oceania Football Confederation Futsal Men’s Cup, wearing their STINGZ strip.
STINGZ have supplied the team with new home, away and goal keeper kits, and as with all STINGZ's collaborations, the jersey designs reflect Tuvalu’s heritage in chosen colours and patterns.
Tuvalu Strip Design
The design of the official Tuvalu football jersey is inspired by Tuvalu heritage, including its flag.
The flag of Tuvalu has a sky blue field and nine gold stars, representing the nine islands which compose Tuvalu; the arrangement is geographically correct, with the east towards the top (i.e. north to the left). We therefore made sky blue the predominant colourway of the home jersey and golden yellow as the predominant colourway of the way.
Both designs feature vertical stripes applied to create a watercolour brushstroke effect, a nod to the pristine South Pacific Ocean waters surrounding the Island nation. To complete the design, a Polynesian motif is watermarked onto the jersey to give it a tribal effect.
